Leaf Shears was founded by Steven McManus, a hairdresser and salon owner based in London. Steve wanted to create a shear company he knew practiced ethical manufacturing, intentional design and ergonomics for the stylists, a fair price point for a luxury shear that included options that make premium shears more accessible, packaged in recycled materials, and for every pair that is purchased Leaf plants ten trees to reforest.

So, aside from the fact that the shears manufacturing is more closely monitored, the shears are made from the same high-end steel many luxury shears are made from. It's the company and the mission that give the shears a sustainable purpose.
