Scrummi has been tested by third party companies to be up to 10x more absorbent than the standard cotton towel. We've developed a methodology to drying hair, in collaboration with top stylists around the world, that help you dry and finish hair faster, more gently and with greater results!
LET'S GET STARTED
What you learned at beauty school about drying hair has done you good all these years. But sticking to the old ways and ignoring upgraded methods risks being left behind and missing opportunities for better results. Technological innovations in toweling are leading to improvements in the back basin experience for the guest, while laying better foundations for enhanced styling results. All it takes is refreshing your skills at the basin.
STEP ONE: HANDS ON SQUEEZE
After rinsing, take the time to gently squeeze all the water from the hair, starting at the crown with thumbs meeting at the center of the forehead and fingers placed behind the guest’s ears. Pull back gently but firmly squeezing them together when your palms meet. Continue to squeeze the hair until no more water drips, giving your client a nice finish to their scalp massage.
STEP TWO: GENTLE COMB BEFORE TOWELING
Two reasons for this - easier on the clients neck and product in pre-toweled hair absorbs better. Using your favorite wide-toothed comb and detangling spray, comb out the hair at the basin and then wring the hair out once more.
STEP THREE: BLOT THE HAIR
Starting at the forehead, with the long end along the hairline, gently ease the Scrummi towel back from the forehead, squeezing as you go. Do this a couple of times, making sure to squeeze with the hair wrapped inside of the Scrummi towel so it's absorbing the water squeezed from the hair.
STEP FOUR: WRAP COMFORTABLY
This is where it gets personal. There are two ways to wrap the client to return to your station. The curly method and the top knot, which you can get more information on different stylist techniques on our YouTube channel. The size of the Scrummi towel and its stretch make the towel a fan favorite.
